Attachment Cotton Velvet Cushion

Attachment brings fun and style to your home. Science and art come together to tell exciting ocean stories.

The design illustrates the life cycle of the beautiful oomycete pathogen Eurychasma interacting with its host, a brown marine algae called Ectocarpus. From the moment in time when the Eurychasma pathogen infects the algae, the spore becomes attached to the wall and enters the algal cell – the calm before the storm to a mature Eurychasma sporangium releasing spores to restart its life cycle.

The wonder of the microscopic ocean.
